What Are Teens Requesting For Dance Songs?

I just finished DJing a 16th birthday party.  I must say, these kids sure like that Hip Hop!  I've compiled this Hip Hop and Rap DJ Playlist from their requests.  You'll notice they wanted some "oldies but goodies" such as Get Low and Move (If You Wanna).  Yes, if you're 16 and if the song is more than 2 years old, it's OLD.

These are alphabetical, not in "DJ Play List" order, so if you have these, put your sets together appropriately.

You'll also notice a lot of warning tags.  Although there's no profanity due to the versions I have, there are still adult themes in these rap and hip hop songs.  I know, shocking.

What About The 3 Song Rule?

As for the DJ playlist rule of playing only 3 songs from the same style in a row, that rule should not simply go out the window.  You should apply that rule to the BPMs.  Start with three slower rap and hip hop songs that are down in the 70 and 80 bpm range, then jump up to three songs at 128, then back down to three songs in the 100 range, etc.

Hey DJ's, brides, grooms, and anyone who needs great music for their celebration!  We are hitting wedding season in FULL stride right now.  What better time to go through and list all of the latest Top 40 wedding playlists songs!

These are listed from older to newer.  If you've got a more conservative crowd, you might want to stick with the older, more well known (i,e, "played out") songs.  If you've got an upbeat high energy group, then anything goes!

This is a wedding playlist 2013.  The wedding dj playlist above is a list of only the latest top 40 from radio hits to dance floor hits.  These songs will not be on all wedding playlists, but many will.

Your wedding playlist should contain a few sets of these songs.  The wedding dj setlist should NOT be ALL top 40 wedding playlist songs because people who want oldies, motown, disco, 80's dance and more, will leave after 30 minutes of straight new songs.You need to mix in songs from a wedding playlist 2011 or a wedding playlist 2012 to keep those people happy, too.

The best wedding playlist will incorporate some of the above and wedding songs that are romantic and get couples to slow dance.  Since the occasion is all about "love" include wedding music that fits that genre.  Yes, get people to slow dance, too!

For the older couples, they may need some 80s alternative playlist songs. 

Besides the standard wedding fare, like father daughter wedding songs or mother son wedding songs, be sure to be smart in your wedding planning when building the playlists.  Hopefully your wedding DJ already knows all of the above and isn't just a disc jockey.

Your wedding reception is a celebration and the best dj playlist for wedding dancing INCLUDES MAKING EVERYONE HAPPY!  Not just your closest friends.  All the wedding reception songs should be organized appropriately.

The dj playlist you create will have a huge impact on the success of your celebration.  Be sure to NOT leave any one out.
